Breslow Starling Registration Approved by Public Company Accounting Oversight Board
The PCAOB is a private-sector, nonprofit organization, created by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, to oversee the auditors of public companies in order to protect the interests of investors and further the public interest in the preparation of informative, fair, and independent audit reports.
To be eligible for registration, Breslow Starling designated member A. Thomas Evans, III, CPA, to assume firm-wide responsibility for the quality of the firm’s public company audit practice, and to ensure that all such audit engagement personnel possess the latest knowledge of all applicable professional standards, rules and regulations for public company audits. The PCAOB is required to conduct a continuing program of inspections to assess compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the rules of the Board, the rules of the Securities and Exchange Commission, and professional standards, in connection with each registered firm’s performance of audits, issuance of audit reports, and related matters involving issuers. These inspections are conducted annually for firms that provide audit reports for more than 100 issuers and at least triennially for firms that provide audit reports for fewer issuers.
